It's Paul McCartney's Birthday, So We're Singing Let It Be...Tattooed

English singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and composer (and member of The Beatles) Sir Paul McCartney celebrates 77 years today and in honor of his Birthday, we're sharing some awesome tattoos and facts about this awesome bloke.

Aside from being extremely gifted in the music industry, Mr. McCartney is also a talented painter. He has over 70 paintings of his exhibited at the Walker Art Gallery in his hometown of Liverpool. Really, is there anything he can't do?

Paul McCartney can play several instruments, including the guitar, and piano, but the first instrument he learned was the trumpet at the tender age of 14.

Though we know and love this famous Beatle as Paul, his actual first name is James! (Seeing as his Father was also named James they decided to call him by his middle name, Paul.)

McCartney has received two honorary Lifetime Achievement awards, one as part of the Beatles and one as a solo artist.

Despite being incredibly wealthy and well-known, Paul McCartney remains grounded and always there for people in need. for instance, after the terrible attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, he organized a benefit concert in support of the victims and their families. The concert raised over $35 million.

Being a well-known artist and a globe-trotter Paul has been to a lot of places, add to the list Springfield! Along with his then-wife Linda, McCartney appeared as himself on The Simpsons seventh season episode “Lisa the Vegetarian.” Tattoo by: Roar Tattoo Studio

McCartney met John Lennon and his then band, the Quarrymen, when he was 15 at the St Peter's Church Hall fête in Woolton. The band invited McCartney to join soon after as a guitarist, and he formed a close friendship with Lennon which would one day lead to the birth of The Beatles.
